Virginia Kettleis the very heart of the multiaward-winning folk-rock band Merry Hell.Her songs, spirit and energies have helped drive the band ever upwards, giving asignificant outlet to her creativity, providing anthems such asBury Me Naked,which had20,000 fans swaying in a Cropredy field, as well asirresistible dancing tunes, and slicesof wry humour as seen in‘VIOLET’,her solo tour-de-force during the band set, whereshe often forgoes the need for amplification and wanders freely among the audience.Her solo album‘No Place Like Tomorrow’was acritical and popular success, hitting theheights of No.1 in the Amazon Folk Charts within days of its release.

Formed 10 yrs ago, UK 3-piece Jimmy Dammage, are back after a lengthy self-inflicted hiatus, with a 10-track album that spits with frenetic urgency and crackles with a melancholic exuberance. Shifting effortlessly between punchy riffs, hefty melodies and slabs of raucous grandeur, the album, set to be released in the spring of 2023 on both Interstellar Smoke and Rare Vitamin Records, is an essential 30-minute slice of catchy post-hardcore.

- Full evening, including Licenced bar

- Room hire taken from ticket sales (so no upfront costs)

She has performed headline sets across the country, alongside multiple radio features and commissioned performances. Her debut collection was released with Verve Poetry Press in 2021.

@furryhug is the songwriting vehicle of Jack Mee. The Liverpool-based artist takes his name from a mythical man-eating beast, although his songs are far from encouraging cannibalism. Often introspective, sometimes strange, his music is human and celebrates the day-to-day life of the everyman in the modern world.

His latest self-released single Circadian Rhythm gained airplay on BBC Radio One and has been compared to the likes of Talking Heads. Difficult to pin down to a single genre, his music is a blend of new wave, alt-rock and art pop.

His next single Where did the day go? is planned for release in early 2024.

🍽️ Curry Jackfruit & Coconut Roti 🌴

🔹 SERVINGS: 2
🔹 PREP TIME: 15 MIN
🔹 COOK TIME: 45 MIN

🌟 Curry Paste 🌟

Thumb of ginger
10g fresh Parsley
2 spring onions
10g fresh coriander
1 onion, roughly chopped
4 cloves garlic
1 scotch bonnet chili
2 tbsp olive oil
Juice of half a lime
Wash ingredients thoroughly.
Blend in a food processor until a thick paste consistency.
🍛 Curry 🍛

Curry paste (from above)
1 tsp all-purpose seasoning
1 potato
1 tsp allspice
1 carrot
1 tsp tomato purée
1/2 cup beans/lentils
1 tsp curry powder
1 can of coconut milk
1 tsp turmeric
1 can of jackfruit
Heat paste in a pot on low for 5 minutes.
Drain & wash jackfruit & beans/lentils.
Peel & chop carrot & potato.
Add Jackfruit, vegetables & beans/lentils to paste and cook for 5 minutes on low.
Add dry ingredients & tomato paste.
Cover with 500ml vegetable stock and bring to a boil, cook for 5 minutes.
Add coconut milk and stir well, bring to a boil.
Reduce to a simmer and leave for 20 minutes.
When potatoes can be smashed, take off the heat.
🥞 Roti 🥞

100 ml water
50 g soft butter
2 tsp sugar
1 cup plain flour
Desiccated coconut
Add soft butter to flour and combine until crumbly.
Slowly add water, 1 tsp at a time to the mixture.
Repeat until you form a dough.
Let it rest (ideally 20 mins).
Knead and stretch & add in desiccated coconut.
Roll it flat and cut into thick strips.
Wrap the strips around in a circle (like a cinnamon roll).
Roll mixture flat, tortilla thickness.
Heat a pan on high with vegan butter or oil.
Fry each side for 2 minutes or until golden brown.

Steven Langstaff aka @nightterrorspoetry is a spoken word artist from Hull, and now resides in Nantwich. Steven Langstaff aka @nightterrorspoetry is a spoken word artist from Hull, and now resides in Nantwich. His work swings from poems about time, life, death, football and Superman, with a healthy dose of awful train journeys, disengaged English students and a man having a metaphorical fight with the sun.

There’ll be poems that make you laugh, poems that make you think, and poems that make you go to the bar.

Meg fell in love with music at an early age, having grown up in a home where every second was filled with her parents’ favourite records. @nxdiamusic is an alternative-pop singer-songwriter from Manchester. Born in Egypt, and moving to the UK when she was eight, she writes and sings both in English and Arabic. Nxdia has a new take on pop music, blending vulnerable and introspective lyrics with modern production and effortless delivery.
Her early memories growing up in Cairo are of living next to a cinema, providing her first surges of inspiration as a child, creating images and characters through drawing and poetry.
